Greene County Circuit Court

Greene County Circuit Court is part of the Nineteenth Judicial District of the State of Mississippi. George and Jackson Counties are included in this district. Three judges, the Honorable Robert "Bob" Krebs, the Honorable Kathy King Jackson (Senior Judge), and the Honorable Dale Harkey, currently preside in the court.  Anthony Lawrence serves as District Attorney.

Court terms are held in Greene County each February, May, August, and November. Each term starts on the second Monday of the month and continues for three weeks. Each judge presides over a separate week. Felony and civil cases are heard each court term. Motion days are also scheduled between terms.

Court cases are numbered and assigned a judge at the time of filing. Judges are assigned in numerical order. You can determine the presiding judge on a case by looking at the cause number. The number in parenthesis indicates the judge number.

Judge Krebs (1)
Judge Jackson (2)
Judge Harkey (3)

For example, if the cause number is 2001-10-070 (1), Judge Krebs is the presiding judge.

Drug Court

In December 2002, a Drug Court was established for Greene and George Counties.  Drug Court is a new innovative way to handle the growing drug problem in our area.  Offenders who meet eligibility requirements usually meet weekly on Thursdays before Judge Kathy Jackson.
